Interesting article on meals and anxiety, fMRI studies show effects can be fast and linked even to a single meal. Here is a quick summary:

INCREASED anxiety:
Western diet (inc ~30%),
Sugar rich foods

DECREASED anxiety:
Choline rich foods (B like Vitamin) found in eggs, tofu and meats;
Fermented foods i.e. yoghurt,
Omega 3 (fatty fish).
