An interesting call to action to prescribe something free and highly beneficial – exercise. There are a few patients where I currently work who manage to walk a fair amount but those who regularly exercise are uncommon. This is in contrast to my last job which was serving a university community. The levels of exercise participation were amazing. Maybe the secret to having a cardiivascularly fit way of life is to have an academic job! In my current job I have tried telling my patients about a 4 minute exercise morning routine but I rarely actually write a prescription for exercise, perhaps I should start.
