      بسم الله
In short the answer is yes. The incidence is unknown of AIA (Aspirin Induced Asthma) and according to this article in the CHEST journal in 2000 it is as follows:

The prevalence of AIA in the community is not certain, but patients with AIA constitute about 10 to 20% of the asthmatic population,23 and AIA is more common in women. A Finnish study4 showed an overall aspirin intolerance of 5.7% and the prevalence of AIA to be 1.2%.

Where symptoms occur then a risk:benefit analysis with the patient should be undertaken. If the resultant Asthmatic symptoms are very severe and life threatening then it would be prudent advise the patient that Aspirin should not be taken and if taken will risk his/her life. If the symptoms are mild then these can be controlled by Leukotrienes or LABAs. As for the entire range of people in between these two extremes then the patient and doctor should attempt to come to a joint decision.

    Hi Dr.Taqi,

I am currently in UK, done my MRCGP last yr and working as GP in UK – wanting to migrate to middle east, either KSA/UAE. But not sure what the prospects and pay for female GP is like. i am originally indian but now have British passport.
Also would I need to a specialisation for better survival. I have done DRCOG and DFFP( family planning with coil and implant certfication), but would a masters in Diabetes care/ medical education fetch any feathers or not really?
Can you please guide me on these queries. I want to speak to you over the phone directly if that is possible or email you about further guidance.

    Thanks

    R Syed

      Hi,

Quite a lot of questions! I think I need to have a specific blog on this as it is quite a frequent question but some v short replies to give you some kind of idea:

      Prospects : good
Passports : Better pay but US and Canadian demand is greater in KSA; Smaller Gulf countries prefer UK.
Pay : Variable depending on experience, private v public etc. Plus you have to factor in the ‘benefits’ and lack of taxes to get a true value. Best to ask the recruitment agents what the current pay scales are. US and Canada are Zone 1, Europe Zone 2 in the pay scale league.
Extra letters: Not really worth that much.
Phone or email : sorry just about have enough time for the odd blog and comment reply.
